The most likely cause is tartar, which leads to strong bad breath. Tartar is removed by ultrasound, followed by a thorough check of the entire mouth and gums. After treatment, which is carried out under anesthesia (sedative) or short-term narcosis, special pills are prescribed which eliminate bad breath and infection in the mouth. As a very good prevention, we can recommend FISH4DOGS - Sea Jerky Rolls, a premium snack with no preservatives or colors. It's a one inch thick stick, very good for gently scraping away tartar.
